Maintaining security of your data is a high priority at Tecat Ltd. and we are committed to respecting your privacy rights. We are dedicated to being transparent about what data we collect about you and how we use it.

Please note, we may change the Privacy Policy at any time by posting a revised version on the Site. Please check both the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy whenever you visit the Site. You agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy if you continue to use our Services after the date on which the revised Privacy Policy is published on the Site.

Words and expressions defined in the Terms of Use have the same meanings in this Privacy Policy.


1. Legal basis

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and any other data protection laws applicable in the UK, we confirm that the data controller of this Site is Tecat Ltd., a company registered under the laws of England, with registered office as 85 Great Portland Street, First Floor, London, W1W 7LT, United Kingdom.

You give us consent to collect and use your personal information (see next Section) when you join the service. If you wish to withdraw that consent, please delete your profile as we are unable to provide the service without your ongoing agreement.

If you contravene our Terms of Use, then we additionally reserve the right to process your personal data on the basis of Legitimate Interest, to help prevent or detect fraud and to help us protect other members.

2. Information collected

We collect information you provide to us when you create and complete your profile, including personally identifiable information such as your email address. This information is stored on our systems, but no personal contact information is ever displayed in your public profile or included in any communication we may send to other members.

If you choose to pay for the Services by card you will be required to provide additional information related to your payment card details. This information will be passed to our payment provider via a secure link and at no point will your card number be known to, or retained by us.

We also keep details of your visits to our service including web logs of your activities , other connection information including the URL of any service from which you clicked through to the service. We also keep details of messages you send and receive through the services and records of your customer service queries and correspondence, in the event you contact us. All of this data is referred to as personal data.

3. Control and disclosure of your personal data

We will only use your personal data on a permitted lawful basis to do so, including the following:

  • performing our contract for the Services with you including using your information to help us to analyse and to improve use of the Services or to troubleshoot problems.
  • the pursuit of our legitimate interests.
  • complying with our legal obligations.
You also agree that Tecat may disclose your data (including personal data) as follows:
  • Other members can see your profile information including your photos and related entries on the Site.
  • Other members can see when you visit their Profile page. Conversely, you can also see which members have visited your Profile.
  • Other members can smile at you and/or send you messages and vice versa. Messages on the Site are only sent through our internal mailbox facility.
  • When we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data with such parties in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use; or to protect the rights, property, or our safety, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction, or to the Police and any relevant authority or enforcement body (including your Internet Service Provider or network administrator).
  • Email notifications: You agree that dating88.com may send various messages and notifications to your email address. However at no point does dating88.com gives out your e-mail address to a third party except when it is required by law.

4. Password

You can only access your account information and our service through the use of your Email address (as ID) and password. To protect the confidentiality of your personal data, you must keep your password confidential and not disclose it to any other person. As it is not stored in plaintext, your password is hashed using a one-way hashing algorithm which means it cannot be recovered (or disclosed) by anyone, including ourselves. Please notify us immediately if you believe your password has been misused.

Please note, we will never ask you to disclose your password.

5. Cookies

When you visit the Site, we may send you a cookie which is a small file that can be placed on your computer's hard disk for record keeping purposes and they help us recognise you when you next visit the Site, so you do not have to go through the login process everytime.

Cookies is a means to identify you used by Web sites. You are not obliged to accept cookies and may modify your browser so that it will not accept cookies. If you do so, you may still use some, but not all, portions of the Service, for example the login process and all member functionality requires your browser to accept cookies.

We do not use cookies for advertising and/or analytical purposes.

6. Security

dating88.com is committed to protecting the security of your personal data. However, while we take reasonable precautions to guard the personal data we collect, no security system is impenetrable.

We take precautionary measures to protect the personal information we hold from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. For example, we store the personal data you provide on computer systems that have limited access and that are in controlled facilities. Additionally, your data is protected with encryption, such as Transport Layer Security (TLS), during transit over the Internet.

In the event of a security breach, we are legally obliged to notify the authorities and would endeavour to react as fast as possible to resolve the problem. We cannot however accept responsibility for Member details that are lost or compromised in the event of a security breach.

7. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your own account incluing your Profile by clicking your email address in the navigation bar then select 'Delete your Account' then follow instructions. Note: In this case we do not retain your data, and all data associated to your account such as the messages you sent to and received from other members will be deleted.

If your profile has been deleted because you have contravened our Terms of Use, we reserve the right to keep some or all of your personal data for up to 3 years from the date of deletion, in order to help protect other members, prevent fraud and to enable us to assist the Police or other law enforcement authorities if legally required to do so.

8. No spam policy

We will not send you spam emails.

Unless you expressly agree that we may do so, we will never supply, sell or rent your email address to any third party.

9. Your rights

You have the right to object to our use of your personal data, in that case you can ask us to delete your account. This is known as your right to be forgotten.
